openEnd wrench Maya, mental ray, Photoshop March 2007
The world as we know it is long gone. In fact its really long gone. Just before the last of the humans perished, half man half machines were created. Well, like allot of our great Ideas that didn't work either. So now this new man made species is left to Roam the world. And like everything else even they have wars. The character pictured Here is not a battle robot. He is more like a medic, servicing and aiding the more robust machines designed for destruction. Hence the name open end wrench. Its about there only purpose, and they love every minute of it.
The Characters and the set were modeled and rigged in maya. Textured in photoShop. the texture seams, and a displacement map were made in Zbrush, and the charactor blend shapes were sculpted in mudBox. the background was painted in photoshop with some composited photo elements. This was a cumilation of several school projects.
I just wish I had done it for the Machineflesh challenge.
